Royal Enfield Himalayan launched in Delhi at a price of Rs 1.73 lakh

Royal Enfield India that had launched its first adventure tourer - the Himalayan - earlier this month, today launched it in Delhi as well.

Royal Enfield India that had launched its first adventure tourer - the Himalayan - earlier this month, today launched it in Delhi as well. For people not in the know, the company had to halt the new motorcycle's launch in the National Capital due to ban on two wheelers that do not comply with BSIV emission norms. Now the transport authority of the state has extended the deadline by another year to meet the new emission norms. Earlier, all the two-wheeler markers were asked to make their vehicles BSIV compliant by April 1, 2016.

The Eicher Group-owned motorcycle maker launched the bike at Rs 1.73 lakh (on-road, Delhi). Available in two colour options - Granite and Snow, bookings for the Royal Enfield Himalayan is now opened at all RE dealerships across New Delhi.

Powering the Royal Enfield Himalayan is a 411cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine with single overhead camshaft (SOHC) and a counter balancer. Claimed to be the most refined RE engine, this one churns out 24.5bhp and 32Nm mated toa 5-speed constant mesh gearbox.
