New Honda CBR 650F to launch by June 2017 at a higher price tag

The middle-weight sports tourer from Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India, will go through a makeover and command a slight premium over the existing model

Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India will be introducing a refreshed version of its middle-weight sports tourer, the CBR 650F, in India by June 2017. In a report by Overdrive, the same was confirmed and according to it, expected price of the motorcycle will be in the range of Rs 7.60 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. The new CBR 650F will be powered by the existing albeit a few changes like a larger intake and exhaust system as well as better performance figures. Over the existing iteration, the 2017 Honda CBR 650F will generate 89 hp of power and 62 Nm of torque from the four-cylinder motor. This engine will be mated to a 6-speed transmission and the overall weight of the middle-weight motorcycle is 213 kg. The company also claims that the gear ratios from the second to the fifth gear have been reduced and power is more pronounced from 5,000 rpm.

In addition to the performance figures, the new CBR 650F will get new 41mm Showa dual bending valve front forks and a 7-step adjustable monoshock at the rear. In terms of safety, the new CBR 650F also witnesses updates to the Nissin brake calipers with ABS as a standard fitment. The middle-weight will be available in new colour options as well which include Millenium Red, Pearl Metalloid White and Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic.

The company showcased the new CBR 650F at the EICMA (Esposizione Internazionale Ciclo Motociclo e Accessori) Motorcycle Show held in November 2016. In addition to the fully-faired version of the middle-weight motorcycle showcased at the motor show, the company also unveiled the 2017 Honda CB 650F, a naked streetfighter motorcycle with the same powertrain as that of the CBR 650F.
