India Kawasaki Motors will bring its entry level adventure motorcycle Versys-X 300 and its mid-size cruiser Vulcan S this year, according to a report in Autocar Professional. According to the report, the manufacturer will bring these two motorcycles in 2017, as they are setting up a facility in Chakan, Pune. The Versys-X3 was showcased at the 2016 EICMA and is powered by a 296cc, eight-valve, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine. The unit will produce 38 hp of power and 27Nm of torque and will be mated to a 6-speed gearbox. On the other hand, the company will launch its first cruiser motorcycle in India, Vulcan S, which is powered by a 649cc engine. The manufacturer will produce both the motorcycles at its Chakan facility, which will help in lowering the prices. The Vulcan S is expected to be priced between Rs 6 lakh to Rs 7 lakh and will compete with the likes of Harley-Davidson Street 750. In addition, the Versys-X300 is expected to be priced between Rs 3 lakh to 4 lakh.
India Kawasaki Motors has opened its independent plant in Pune and the new production line will go live from September this year. In its new facility, the company will manufacture its current line up of motorcycles which ranges from 250cc to 650cc and the higher capacity motorcycle, Ninja 1000. The new plant will help the manufacturer to cater the needs of the consumers and will increase the production capacity.
