Polaris India has launched its much-awaited motorcycle, the Indian Springfield in India at a price of Rs 31.07 lakh, ex-showroom, Gurugram. The company has already started accepting the booking of the cruiser motorcycle and the Indian Springfield is available only in classic Thunder Black colour option.
The all new Indian Springfield is powered by a Thunder Stroke 1811cc engine which produces 138Nm of torque. The Springfield gets a cast aluminum frame with an integrated airbox and the suspension duties are taken care by a telescopic fork at the front and an air adjustable with single rear shock with 11.4 cm of travel at the rear. Braking is courtesy 300 mm single disc with a two-piston caliper at the rear and 300 mm dual with 4 piston caliper at the front and ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) is standard.
The Springfield features standard features such as keyless start, quick release windshield, quick release hard saddlebags, tyre pressure monitoring and adjustable passenger floorboards. On the instrument control, the motorcycle gets tank-mounted electronic speedometer with odometer, dual trip meters, digital tachometer, ambient air temperature, fuel range, average fuel economy, battery voltage, gear shift indicator, real-time clock, Vehicle Trouble Code Read-Out, heated grips (offered as an accessory), Low Engine Oil Pressure indicator, 9 LED telltale indicators, Chassis Fault indicator and check engine warning lamp.
The Springfield will lock horns with the likes of Harley-Davidson Street Glide Special in the two-wheeler touring segment.
