Honda Motorcycles and Scooters has become the 'Number 1 two-wheeler selling brand' in 11 states and 2 Union Territory across India. The claim is based on latest sales figures from the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) for the first quarter of FY 2015-16. The 11 states include Maharashtra, Karnataka, Gujarat, Kerala, Punjab, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Goa, Manipur, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh and 2 Union Territories (Chandigarh, Andaman & Nicobar Islands).
HMSI is the leader in automatic scooter segment with a 58 percent market share across India. In states such as Chandigarh, the company has 89 percent market share, while in Andhra Pradesh, the market share stands at 70 percent. In states including Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat, the market share is 60 percent.

With the upcoming festive season, HMSI has announced various schemes for its customers till 31st October. These benefits, which includes Rs 2,000 cash benefit to Central Govt employees and PSU employees, exchange bonus of Rs 1,500 at the Honda's 115 pre-owned outlets. In addition, customers can avail lowered interest rates with a choice of finance partners.
