After launching the Benelli 302R in India, DSK Benelli is planning to bring in another 300 cc motorcycle in the country. The upcoming new 300 cc motorcycle has been recently spotted at the company's facility in Pune by ThrustZone and is suppose to be a sport tourer. The motorcycle shares its design cues with the TNT 300 and is likely to share its platform with its elder sibling. The images suggests the new upcoming 300 cc motorcycle will get a single unit headlamp, bigger and a sculpted fuel tank, a windscreen, leg guard and panniers. The two-wheeler manufacturer will also equip the motorcycle with split seats and a redesigned rear end with a half fairing. These changes make the new 300 cc motorcycle stand apart from the TNT 300.
The upcoming motorcycle will be based on trellis frame and is likely to get upside down forks, dual disc brakes at the front with ABS (Antilock Braking System) as well as 110 section front tyre and 150 at the rear that will be wrapped on 17-inch wheels. Other features will include hazard light and multi-info instrument cluster.
DSK Benelli' new sport tourer is expected to be powered by the same 300 cc parallel twin engine that sheds out a power of 38 hp and 26 Nm of torque, similar to that of the TNT 300. The company will tune the engine in order to meet the new emission norms (BSIV). With the addition of panniers and fairing, the overall weight of the motorcycle is likely to be increased.
The new 300 cc motorcycle is expected to be launched in India in 2018 and before that we expect the two-wheeler manufacturer to showcase the motorcycle at the 2018 Auto Expo. Once launched, it will rival against the likes of the Kawasaki Ninja 300 and the upcoming TVS Apache RR 310S.
