Aprilia has added two motorcycles to its superbike line up in India. The Shiver 900 and Dorsoduro 900 will be available at Piaggio Group’s Motoplexes in Pune, Chennai, Kochi, Bangalore, and Hyderabad. Aprilia's motorcycle portfolio so far had the Tuono and RSV4. Limited units of the two new motorcycles have been offered at an introductory price that will last until 30th June, 2017. While the Shiver 900 is a naked streetfighter, the Dorsoduro is an adventure motorcycle.
The Shiver 900 has been priced at Rs 13.33 lakh (ex-showroom, Pune) and the Dorsoduro 900 at Rs 13.84 lakh (ex-showroom, Pune). However, the introductory offer on these motorcycles has brought pricing down to Rs 11.99 lakh for Shiver and Rs 12.50 lakh for Dorsoduro for a limited time period.
The Shiver is powered by a 900cc V-twin engine for improved torque. Design aesthetics of the motorcycle have been revamped to include side covers on the fuel tank, side panels, tail fairing and front mudguard, highlighting the sporty appeal. The Shiver also gets an advanced traction control system and ride by wire.
It has modern instrument cluster comprising of TFT technology display with a 4.3” screen. It has the ability to adapt to the background and font colours based on the conditions detected by the light sensor. Smartphones can also be connected through the AMP kit and all data related to the calls and audio files can be accessed.
The Dorsoduro gets riding modes - Sport setting provides an immediate and aggressive throttle; the Touring is ideal for touring and daily use, providing a smoother response. The Rain map is ideal for difficult weather conditions and slippery road surfaces.
It comes with a combination of traction control system along with the continental two channel ABS system. The motorcycle is also equipped with a new coloured TFT digital instrumentation which is similar to the one on Aprilia Shiver.
