Yamaha has just launched the 2018 edition of FZS Fi motorcycle in the Indian two-wheeler market at a price of Rs 86,042 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The motorcycle will now be available for sale in an additional colour that goes by the name Armada Blue. Besides the new colour, an important update in the motorcycle is the integration of a rear disc brake. The new 2018 Yamaha FZS-Fi also gets ten-spoke alloy wheels in comparison to the five-spoke alloys previously. Mechanically, the new 2018 Yamaha FZ-S Fi remains untouched as it continues to get its power from the same 149cc, single cylinder, air-cooled engine mated to a five-speed gearbox. The engine churns out a maximum power output of 12.9 hp along with a peak torque of 12.8 Nm. Earlier, the braking to the Yamaha FZ-S Fi was taken care of with the help of a 267mm disc brake up front along with a 130mm drum brake at the rear. The company has now added a 220mm rear disc brake that will definitely improve its braking performance. The suspension system of the bike comprises of conventional telescopic forks at the front while the rear is handled by a monoshock.
Commenting on the launch, Roy Kurian, Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt. Ltd. said, “The legacy of Yamaha’s FZ series in India is all about the inheritance of a unique motorcycling passion. Immensely popular with Indian bikers all the way through almost 10 years from the day it was launched in India, and winning over a million hearts, it was crowned to become the ‘lord of the streets’ by the collective culture of the country’s motorcycling. While its best seller features like build and appearance, superior engine technology, fuel mileage and suspension are retained, the new additions will excite the present and new customers."
