Royal Enfield will launch the 2018 edition of its Himalayan adventure tourer tomorrow. One of the most prominent changes on the new Himalayan is the new camouflage colour scheme that has been leaked already in images. Besides, expect a few cosmetic touch-ups to make the bike look significantly different in comparison to the existing model. The Royal Enfield Himalayan had gone through a lot of criticism in past due to substandard build quality. The owners of the bike had been regularly taking it to social media time to time for expressing their aggression and dissatisfaction for the motorcycle. The launch of the new 2018 Royal Enfield Himalayan Fi can be a big step forward by the company to repair the ruptured image of the bike and the new model can promise a better build quality too. The new 2018 Royal Enfield Himalayan Fi will use the same 411cc, single cylinder, air-cooled engine mated to a five-speed transmission system. The engine is good for churning out respective power and torque outputs of 24.5 hp and 32 Nm. The Himalayan now comes with a fuel injection system to offer a crisper throttle response and to also meet the stricter BS-IV emission norms. The motorcycle is expected to be launched in India at a price of close to Rs 1.7 lakh (ex-showroom).
Most of the cycle parts of the new 2018 Royal Enfield Himalayan Fi are expected to remain the same. Having said that, the braking on the new model will be done with the help of a 300mm disc brake up front along with a 240mm disc at the rear. Although there is a little chance, the company might equip the motorcycle with an ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) to offer added safety and convenience.
In other news, the all-new Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350x and 500x have been spied at one of the company's dealer yards and these are expected to be launched in India in the coming days. In mid-2018, the Chennai-based manufacturer will launch the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 with bookings to open in April 2018.
