With recent spy images of the second generation KTM 390 Duke on the internet, it is expected that KTM is ready to introduce the motorcycle soon. Earlier, the motorcycle has been spotted testing in India and Europe several times. Going by the spied image, the 2017 KTM 390 Duke is inspired from its bigger sibling 1290 Super Duke R. The motorcycle features a new sub-frame, metal fuel tank, side-mounted exhaust and a twin-head lamp. It is expected that the all new Duke will get the same paint scheme as on 1290 Super Duke R.
There are no changes in the mechanicals of 2017 KTM 390 Duke but the company has tweaked the engine, which will fulfill Euro 6 emission norms. It is powered by a 373.2,single cylinder liquid cooled engine, which produces 43hp of power and 35Nm of peak torque. It is expected that exhaust weight will be increased by 4-5 kg to meet the emission norms. Along with this the motorcycle also gets riding modes and Ride-by-Wire will be standard.
The 2017 KTM 390 Duke might also get an all new coloured TFT LCD instrument cluster, which is similar to the 690 Duke. Along with this the motorcycle also features Bluetooth connectivity, which allow the rider to show GPS data on the instrument cluster. Moreover, the next gen 390 Duke gets a 4-way input switchgear, which helps in navigating the menu on LCD instrument cluster.
It is expected, that Bajaj and KTM are planning to showcase 2017 KTM 390 Duke at the 2016 EICMA, and may reach Indian showrooms by 2017.
