Auto Expo 2018: Tata Motors are determined on changing the way the customer views them as a brand and to that end they have brought four very diverse, almost uncharacteristic products to the Auto Expo 2018. While they all draw on Tata Motors Impact Design 2.0 philosophy. They all also reiterate Tata’s mission to connected mobility. First on the list is the Tata’s new SUV concept, which they have been teasing for the last few weeks. Christened the H5X, the eye-grabbing concept is set to join Tata’s production line up later this year. The H5X could perhaps be considered the most impactful concept out of Tata design studios to date, the dimensions and the sinewy use of lines, somewhat hide the SUVs dimension sitting low despite its lengthy frame.
The SUV has a sharp angular jaw line that is only accented by the High-set LED headlamps and grill. As you move further to the front of the H5X, separated by Tata’s signature humanity line is a sharp angular bumper that has what appears to be a design heavy fog lamp enclosure featuring what Tata has referred to as a ‘tri-arrow pattern'. Lines and light are a big part of the angular H5X’s design! Although Tata are yet to reveal what motor the H5X concept will be running, it is likely that it will compete against the likes of the XUV 500 once launched.
Next in the line of futuristic launched from Tata is the 45X hatchback which was unveiled a mere minutes after Tata motors showcased the hyped H5X SUV. With a modern international stance we caught out first glimpse of the new hatchback from Tata through the protection of a glass case. The strong influence of Impact Design 2.0 means the 45X hatch which seems to draw on the Toyota Prius for inspiration gets slim lights up fronts as well as the well-defined signature Humanity line that separates the lights from the grille. However, Tata has maintained the tight lipp treatment when it comes to the 45X with even the interiors not being privy to the public eye.
As we had previously predicted, Tata also launched two performance oriented cars a sedan and a hatchback, The Tata Tigor JTP and the Tata Tiago JTP both of which have been given the go-faster treatment by Tata’s JTP venture with Jayem Auto. Get faster springs, a revised gearbox and also the 1.2 litre turbo petrol engine from the Nexon.
