Curtin University Of Technology

It's the multicultural atmosphere in a university that plays a significant role in determining the choice of an international student, and Curtin provides the perfect setting. I'm happy to say that we have 17,000 international students on our campus - the biggest foreign student cohort in WA. What's more, the diversity is not confined to our students only. Our academic staff comprises various nationalities ranging from Singapore to South Africa and from Ireland to India.

As a university, we are dynamic and innovative. We place a strong emphasis on applied learning, which ensures that our graduates are job-ready with relevant practical knowledge that helps them when they start working in the industry.

Curtin is basically a learning university, but we have many well-established research programmes that are producing beneficial outcomes for industry and for communities. Learning and research go hand-in-hand and we would like to raise awareness of our research profile in the international arena.

India is a critical market for us, and we are sentient to its tremendous potential. Aside from the Indian metros, we're mainly looking to reach into the Tier II and Tier III cities to bring in more students. At present we have over 250 Indian students, but we plan to increase that number shortly.

Curtin is highly regarded in the international market and has developed long-term relationships with over 30 education providers in the Asia Pacific region. As a result, our graduates are well placed to pursue job opportunities overseas.

Curtin is a very reputed institution - the teaching methods are all focussed on industry and work related issues, which I'm sure will help me later on in my working life. A degree from Curtin is well recognised and it also has a strong reputation in South East Asia. The people here are very friendly and gel well with people from different countries. There are people from many parts of the world here, and it's easy to fit in.
