Yaariyan box office collections reach Rs 37.41 crore

YaariyanYaariyan has turned out to be the first sleeper hit of 2014 with box office collections of Rs 37.41 crore in the first 10 days.
Yaariyanhas turned out to be the first sleeper hit of 2014 with box office collections of Rs 37.41 crore in 10 days - the film marks the debut of multiple actors as well as director Divya Khosla Kumar.

Taking an economic point of view, Yaariyan seems to have fared surprisingly well with box office collections of Rs. 19.2 crore over the first weekend, close to the last musical hit of T-Series Aashiqui 2 that had collected Rs 20.5 crore in its first weekend at the box office. Further the film's cost of production was Rs 9 crore whereas the Cost of Print & Advertising was Rs 10 crore, totaling to Rs. 19 crore. Interestingly, a substantial chunk of investment of Rs. 9 crore was recovered from Satellite (STAR Network), music (Rs 4-5 crore) and ancillary rights (Rs 1 crore).
