Ajay Devgn-starrer 'Singham Returns' looks to be well on its way to becoming Rohit Shetty's second film, after 'Chennai Express', to cross the Rs 200 crore mark. Shetty reveals his thoughts during an interaction. Check it out.

'Singham Returns' raked in Rs 100 crore in five days. Did you anticipate this kind of success

■ Not really, but when we saw the film in its entirety we were sure that it will work and that people are sure to like it. But the kind of response it received on the first day was amazing. In fact it was unbelievable!!

Considering this is Ajay Devgns highest opener ever with over Rs 92 crore, to what would you attribute this kind of reception to

■ I have no clue. All we did was, work hard, rest is destiny and audiences unrelenting response. We did what we had to do and the audience has done the rest for us.

Could it also be because of the Ajay-Rohit jodi that has worked wonders at the box office by giving so many hits.

■ Yes. But, ultimately it is the film that speaks for itself. It has nothing to do with us.

Are you now looking forward to the Rs 200 crore mark since you are also the producer of the film

■ No, not really. I dont want to get into the number game. When will we enjoy the success of the film (laughs) We are not waiting for anything more. Also I dont want to take any more pressure. It is like this; I am tense when I make a film, again there is pressure after making its sequel, worrying during the films release whether it will work or not, and if it doesnt there is so much tension. After all that, now it is the Rs 200 crore mark!! We will all go mad at this rate. (laughs) I would just say that I am happy 'Singham Returns' has done well and am not thinking about the money part right now.

I have always believed that if you work hard, everything follows smoothly. If the film works, every department, right from the producer to the spot boy is happy and gets the credit for all the hard work that has gone into it to make it a success.

What can we expect from Rohit Shetty next

■ 'Singham Returns' was a stressful process as we completed the film in just four months. I plan to take a much-needed break. Having said that, I am a film-maker and I shall proudly announce my cast or my next project when I am ready. There are several rumours floating, but why will I hide anything regarding my films, which I am always very proud of. Besides, there is a Karan Johar collaboration that I am working on.

With the stupendous success of 'Singham Returns', expectations have risen. What do you have to say about this

■ Every time I make a film, there is pressure. I was stressed as I was making an action film with Singham, then came Chennai Express, as I worked with Shah Rukh Khan for the first time and now 'Singham Returns'. I shall soon become like a pressure cooker (laughing).
