Of the 45 positions, 32 are professional staff vacancies, which include 14 posts for joint directors and 12 for deputy directors. The balance 13 vacancies are for the support staff.
CCI comprises one chairperson and six members, who are supported by officers and staff. Recently, the CCI had sought applications for posts of three members.
CCI, which gets its grant from the ministry of corporate affairs, is the regulator for fair trade. It was operationalised in May 2009 and started vetting all merger and acquisition cases from June 2011.
CCI has also sought applications for the post of four advisers two each for financial analysis and economics and two directors.
According to the advertisements, all the positions would be filled up on a deputation basis, initially for a period of one year.
As per the advertisements, all applicants must be employees of central or state governments, government companies or regulatory authorities.
In financial year 2012-13, 97 of the 197 sanctioned posts were vacant at CCI.
