According to police, the incident took place between 9.30 pm and 10.30 pm in Sikanderpur village where the child lives with her family. Around 9.30 pm, she was playing outside her home. The girl suddenly disappeared. Her mother thought she might have gone next door to play with the neighbours son, Ghulam Mohammad, SHO, DLF-I police station, said.
Around 10 pm, when the mother realised the child was missing, the family went looking for her. After nearly two hours, just when the parents were to inform police, the girl came home crying and bleeding, the mother said.
The girl was rushed to civil hospital. A medical examination confirmed rape and hospital authorities notified police.
In another case, a 13-year-old girl was raped allegedly by her 17-year-old neighbour in Central Delhi on Thursday. The juvenile was apprehended from his home the same day, police said.
The juvenile lives in a one-room flat in Chandni Mahal and knew the girl well. On Thursday evening, he lured the girl to his room on the pretext of showing her a phone app and raped her. The girl told her aunt about the incident. The aunt then alerted police and the juvenile was apprehended in the evening on charges of rape under POCSO Act, a police officer said.
