The labour commissioners office has sent its report saying the conciliatory talks have failed and the labour department will now have to take a call, according to an official.
We thank the Karnataka government for its efforts to resolve the dispute between our union and management. We now are in touch with the labour department for the next steps in this issue, said a statement from Toyota. The discussions had been focussed mainly on the suspension of 30 workers besides other issues such as the good conduct undertaking and the wage increase negotiations. The management was very adamant on the suspensions, said Satish R, general secretary of the Toyota Kirloskar Motor Employees Union, adding the union was not against an enquiry against the workers but wanted the suspensions to be revoked.
