With the Telangana movement acquiring increasing stridency from all interested parties, Bharatiya Janata Party leader Venkaiah Naidu today said he will insist on addressing concerns and problems of the Seemandhra region when the Bill is introduced in Parliament.

"Problems of this region should be ascertained (when it comes to bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh). Though the Bharatiya Janata Party supported bifurcation for administrative convenience, to remove backwardness as per people's aspirations, we will not let the Centre move ahead by acting against the interests of the Seemandhra region," he said, at a public meeting in Anantapur today.

The Bharatiya Janata Party favours setting up 'growth corridors' in different places of coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema as well as a 10-years tax holiday to promote investments in the two regions.

The Bharatiya Janata Party has been a strong advocate of a separate Telangana for long, but its stand has assumed importance now, since the Telangana Bill cannot be passed smoothly in Parliament without the saffron party's support.
