Small sugar prices gain on millers offtake

Small sugar prices rose at the Vashi wholesale market here today on good demand from stockist amidst millers offtake.

Meanwhile, medium sugar dropped owing to subdued demand from stockist and retailers.

Small sugar (S-30) climbed by Rs 2/10 per quintal to Rs 3,242/3,322 from Monday's closing level of Rs 3,240/3,312.

However, Medium sugar (M-30) declined by Rs 10 per quintal to Rs 3,331/3,452 as against Rs 3,331/3,462 yesterday.

The following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,242/3,322 (Rs 3,240/3,312).

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,331/3,452 (Rs 3,331/3,462).
