Salman Khan has already scripted several personal bests with 'Kick'. Apart from being the biggest film of them all in 2014 till date, 'Kick' has also surpassed hits like Aamir Khan's highbrow comedy '3 Idiots' (Rs 202.47 crore), 'Ek Tha Tiger' (Rs 198.78 crore), 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani' (Rs 188.57 crore) and 'Dabangg 2' (Rs 155 crore) to become No. 4 in Bollywood's all-time top grosser list - and, while it has become a very tough ask, it has emerged as a challenger to Aamir Khan's 'Dhoom 3', which crossed Rs 500 cr mark.
Till Friday (Week 3), 'Kick' box office collections in overseas market stood at Rs 10.75 million (Rs 65.74 crore) with data yet to come from several centres. The USE-GCC region has yielded the highest revenue of Rs 19.53 crore, followed by USA/Canada with Rs 12.46 crore and Rs 10.80 crore from the United Kingdom. Pakistan, where 'Kick' was the highest biggest (Eid) grosser, accounts for Rs 7.40 crore (till Aug 3).
However, the film's India business has slowed down as it enters third week with screenings and shows at cineplexes lessening across the country. According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, 'Kick' has generated Rs 217.08 crore so far in the domestic market. Yesterday's (Aug 8) figure stands at Rs 1.97 crore.
The competition for 'Kick' has also increased with Akshay Kumar's 'Entertainment being released on Friday and the next week's release, Ajay Devgn's 'Singham Returns', is expected to be even bigger.
