Hotel Leela appoints panel for recast

Hotel Leela on Thursday informed the National Stock Exchange that the company's board of directors has appointed a finance committee to take necessary actions towards the restructuring terms conveyed by the Corporate Debt Restructuring Empowered Group. The shareholders of the company has also approved allotment of shares upto R100 crore to Leela Lace Software Solutions, a promoter group company.

Jubilant Lifes four drugs get USFDA approval

Jubilant Life Sciences on Thursday said it has received approvals from the US health regulator for four products that target central nervous system and cardiovascular system therapeutic areas. The company's US arm Jubilant Cadista Pharmaceuticals Inc has received approvals from the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) for Escitalopram tablets USP, Olanzapine orally disintegrating tablets, Losartan Potassium tablets USP and Losartan Potassium and Hydrochlorothiazide tablets USP, Jubilant Life Sciences said in a statement.

Tata Motors gets order for 1,314 trucks from SVLL

Tata Motors has received its largest ever single order for commercial vehicles from Siddhivinayak Logistics (SVLL), to supply 1,314 trucks to be delivered during the financial year. The order includes two recently launched products, the New Tata PRIMA 4923 LX and the Tata LPT 3723, the first 5-axle rigid truck in the country, a media release said. Based in Surat, SVLL is Indias largest fleet owner, with a fleet size of over 4,000 commercial vehicles.

Essar Ports refinances R405-crore debt in arm

Essar Ports has refinanced its debt in a subsidiary, Essar Bulk Terminal, through a takeout finance scheme of India Infrastructure Finance Company (IIFCL). This would help Essar Ports reduce interest costs by 250 basis points on a debt of R405 crore, the company said in a statement on Thursday. This is part of the debt taken by Essar for building its 30-mt capacity bulk terminal at Hazira in Gujarat.

Star appoints Srinivasan senior VP for N America

Broadcasting major Star on Thursday said M K Srinivasan has been appointed as senior vice-president (North America) to spearhead the growth of the network in the US and Canada. With almost 25 years of experience in the US and Canada, Srinivasan has worked closely with most of the major TV channels, and is well connected with the media and community across North America, Star International said in a statement.

BSNL launches landline phones with video call

State-run BSNL, in partnership with SIS Infosystems, on Thursday launched telephones with video-calling facility, which will primarily be used to set up public video call offices by replacing many of the PCOs. We will convert existing PCOs to VCOs with these phones. People will be able to make voice calls to any phone and video calls to any other IP (internet based) phone," said BSNL CMD RK Upadhyay.

Dr Reddys launches Amoxil generic in US

Dr Reddy's Laboratories on Thursday announced the launch of antibiotic Amoxicillin tablets, capsules and oral suspension a bio-equivalent generic version of Amoxil in the US Market. Amoxicillin is a penicillin antibiotic used to treat many different types of infections caused by bacteria. Amoxicillin tablets, capsules and oral suspension are approved by the USFDA, a company statement said.

Chemists body writes to Pawar to finalise policy

The All India Organisation of Chemists and Druggists (AIOCD) has written a letter to Sharad Pawar, chairman, group of ministers National Pharmaceutical Pricing Policy to urgently finalise the new drug-pricing policy that seeks to determine prices at which pharmaceutical companies sell essential medicines in the retail market. In the letter to Pawar, JS Shinde, president of AIOCD, also reiterated the need for a market-based drug pricing policy to best address patient needs and balance industry growth as envisioned in the draft NPPP 2011.

Bombardier to assemble diesel locos in Gujarat

Rail technology leader Bombardier Transportation is joining forces with Electro-Motive Diesel (EMD) to assemble diesel electric locomotives at its facility in Vadodara in Gujarat. Bombardier will deliver diesel locomotives to EMD for its export to Southeast Asia and the Pacific region. This announcement builds upon a similar collaboration between both companies at Bombardiers manufacturing site in Ciudad Sahagun, Mexico.
