Lowe Lintas & Partners is ad agency of the year
Advertising major Lowe Lintas & Partners was adjudged the 'EFFIE Agency of the Year' with six gold and five silver metals at the EFFIE 2013 Awards' organised by the Advertising Club of India. Ogilvy & Mather India (O&M) bagged the Grand Effie' award for its 'Roti campaign' for Hindustan Unilever (HUL)'s soap Lifebuoy, which was executed during the Kumbh Mela. HUL won the `EFFIE Client of the Year' award at the glitzy function. In the final tally, Lowe Lintas was ahead of the race for metals with 280 points, while O&M took the second spot with 130 points and McCann Erickson stood third with 60 points. Announcing the awards, Pratap Bose, president of the Advertising Club of India said, "This year we have received a record number of entries 419, almost 20% more than last year. With these awards, we recognise work that works in the market place."
2nd case filed against Tata Steel MD for blast
On the basis of the report submitted by the Jharkhand labour department team, which probed last year's blast at Tata Steels gas holder unit in Jamshedpur, a second case was filed on Saturday at the chief judicial magistrates court against Tata Steel managing director TV Narendran in his capacity as occupier and Suresh Kumar, the companys deputy vice-president (shared services), in his capacity as factory manager, for violations under the Factories Act, 1948. The blast had left one person dead and 10 injured. The violations can draw a maximum imprisonment term of two years. The case was lodged by deputy chief inspector of factories Arun K Mishra
