With this service, a customer can open an account with the bank without any hassles, OBC said in a statement.
A customer needs to provide only his/her Aadhaar number and to scan one of his/her enrolled fingertips at biometric device available at branches, it said.
This will provide customer, a comfort to quickly open an account with online authentication of his or her Aadhaar number using e-KYC service of UIDAI, it said, claiming OBC is first public sector bank to offer this service. The bank launched this service in coordination with NPCI and UIDAI.
Last month, private sector HDFC Bank also launched eKYC facility.
