Prime Minister Japan mein dholak baja rahe hain (PM is playing drums in Japan). People here do not have electricity, roads and water... Prices are rising here (in India), Rahul said in Gauriganj area of Amethi.
During his recent visit to Japan, Modi had tried his hand at playing drums while taking part in a function.
Rahul said the Modi government was yet to deliver on the big promises it made despite completing 100 days in office. If I recall correctly, there were big promises and long speeches about controlling price rise, solving electricity crisis, solving the drinking water problem. While prices of vegetables have gone up, people are not getting electricity, Rahul said.
He said more than three months have elapsed since the Modi government took charge and they should at least start working on their promises. But, they are not even starting in that direction.
Earlier in the day, locals stopped Rahul in Mohanganj area of his constituency and complained about the prevailing power crisis. People make fun of us. They say, you live in Rahul Gandhis constituency and still you get hardly two to three hours of electricity, a local told the Congress vice-president.
To this, Rahul said he had already written to Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, but didnt blame the state government for the power crisis. Instead, he said the problem was prevailing across the country and blamed it on the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre. So many promises were made, now where is the result he asked.
Rahul, who arrived here in the morning on a two-day visit, also interacted with an all-woman Self Help Group at Mohaiya Kesariya village. He also offered prayers at a Mazar in Islamganj and held closed-door meeting with the party workers at Munshiganj guesthouse in the evening.
