Narendra Modi invoked the 'ABCD' jibe at Congress over corruption again, alleging it has become the identity of that party's "corrupt" activities.

The BJP Prime Ministerial candidate's attack against Congress triggered an alphabet war with the party countering his taunt with its own definition of 'ABCD' targeting him.

Modi levelled the allegation as he tore into the Congress-led UPA government over corruption and price rise.

"I am surprised that Congress leaders are accusing others of corruption. How can they point fingers at others when their own government has seen so many scams" the Gujarat Chief Minister asked while addressing a rally in this Punjab town.

"They (Congress) have changed the nomenclature of ABCD. It is now A for Adarsh (scam), B for Bofors, C for Coal scam. Full ABCD has become the identity of Congress's corrupt activies," Modi said while listing the various scandals that has rocked the Congress government.

Congress leader Abhishek Singhvi took on Modi, saying he can use "more appropriate" adjectives to describe him.

"A for ahankar(arrogant), B for brash, C for communal and D for dictatorial, Singhvi said, and went a step further, "I could add M for megalomaniac".

Singhvi said there was no point in taking Modi's 'ABCD' taunt seriously since words need to be backed up by content.

"We find Mr Modi's perorations without content," he said in New Delhi.

Another Congress leader Rashid Alvi said Modi on the contrary needs to realise how tainted some of his party colleagues are.
