UNION ministers will now have to submit proposals of their foreign travels to the PMO at least 10 days before the proposed date of departure as against the earlier norm of five days.

A recent order issued by the Cabinet Secretariat also states that the proposals for foreign tours will have to incorporate details of the tasks to be accomplished during the visit.

Also, those who travel abroad will have to submit a post-visit report to the PM. The same rules will apply during foreign visits undertaken by Secretary/Additional Secretary level officers.
