MS DhoniBCCI allows Team India to travel overseas in casuals.
THE Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have acceded to the senior players request to ease the dress-code protocol by allowing them to fly overseas in casual attire.

When MS Dhoni & Co landed in London on Sunday, they were decked in t-shirts and track pants instead of the traditional blazers and formal trousers.

The BCCI has accepted the players request for avoiding blazers on long flights and instead allowing them to wear casuals. It does get very uncomfortable to wear formals, especially when they have to travel for more than 5-6 hours. So we have accepted their request. The players can wear their blazers for official functions or dinners later during the tour, BCCI secretary Sanjay Patel confirmed to The Indian Express.

The players are learnt to have informed the BCCI that they will be carrying their team blazers along and will not have a problem donning them for the formal dinner with the High Commission of India and other official events.

Business-class upgrade

The other bone of contention for the Indian team was travelling for long periods by economy class, which, according to the players, was taking a toll on them physically. Patel revealed that the BCCI had agreed to endorse this demand as well, insisting that they may go by business class, especially if it was more than a three-hour journey. Unlike previous occasions, theyll be accorded the luxury even for shorter trips to Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

Players now can fly on business class as far as possible. One should not forget that whatever BCCI has achieved is because of its players, Patel said.
