Halt, 22, who was sent by 'Wrecking Ball' singer on the stage to receive her trophy, is facing the arrest after violating his probation, reported the New York Post.
Halt was first arrested attempting to break into an apartment in Salem, Oregon in 2010, and was charged with criminal trespassing and mischief.
Helt has allegedly violated his probation repeatedly since then, failing to take a drug test, using marijuana, breaking curfew, failing to complete his community service and failing to report to his probation officer.
The homeless youth made many present at the awards ceremony, including Cyrus, emotional with his speech on the stage.
"I am accepting this award on behalf of the 1.6 million runaways and homeless youth in the United States who are starving, lost and scared for their lives right now.
"I know this because I am one of these people. I've survived in shelters all over the city. I've cleaned your hotel rooms, I've been an extra in your movies. I've been an extra in your life," he had said.
