The ministry of corporate affairs (MCA) has sought a report from the registrar of companies (RoC), Mumbai, on National Spot Exchange (NSEL). While NSEL is already being probed by the income tax department, the Enforcement Directorate and the Forwards Markets Commission, the MCA has asked the RoC to submit a report after a technical scrutiny of the financials and other corporate filings of NSEL. The RoC has been asked to check whether the spot exchange has violated norms relating to the Companies Act as well.
