Ravindra S.Shahane, Senior General Manager told during the launch event that north accounts for 30 per cent of total sales of the company and in Punjab people identify with Mahindra. He said that last year total sales of Xylo were about 25,000 units down from 27,000 units the company sold during the previous year. He said that with the launch of all new Xylo, the company was hopeful for a turnaround in numbers.
Shahane said that total size of SUV in India was about five lakh vehicles per annum. Mahindra accounted for 51 per cent of share of the total market or about 2.70 lakh SUVs. He said that the new vehicle has new features but price stood at old levels. He informed that at the heart of the new H-Series is the powerful and advanced mHawk engine which is set to offer an class leading 120 PS power and 280 NM torque for better drivability and an excellent fuel efficiency of 14.02 kmpl. It is equipped with all new transmission which facilitates effortless gear shifting. All these additional customer benefits are offered without any increase in the price as compared to outgoing E series. The Xylo H-Series will be available in one new colour -- Dolphin Grey, (H8 & H9) apart from being available in five other colours.
