Lok Sabha Elections: The schedule for 2014 polls, phase by phase

For the first time, the Lok Sabha elections will be held in nine phases from April 7 to May 12. Announcing the poll schedule on Wednesday, the Election Commission of India said counting of votes will be done on May 16 and the results will be announced on the same day.

Here's the the schedule for the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, phase by phase:

* April 7

ASSAM: 5 seats (Tezpur, Kaliabor, Jorhat, Dibrugarh, Lakhimpur)

TRIPURA: Tripura West

* April 9

(5 States, 7 Seats)

ARUNACHAL PRADESH: Both seats

MANIPUR: Outer Manipur

MEGHALAYA: Both seats

NAGALAND: Single seat

MIZORAM: Single seat

(14 States, 92 Seats)

BIHAR: 6 seats (Sasaram, Karakat, Aurangabad, Gaya, Nawada, Jamui)
