The aviation watchdog has withdrawn two time slots for each of the three airlines at the Delhi airport in a move prompted by heavy fog on Wednesday evening at Delhi. because of this, two flights each of the three airlines were diverted to Jaipur. The aircraft used were not compatible to the CAT-III Instrument Landing System at the Delhi airport , which allows landing in very low visibility conidtions.
DGCA has been in continuous touch with airlines to ensure deployment of Cat- III-compliant aircraft and Cat-III-trained crew during fog. However, in spite of repeated efforts in this regard, two flights each of Jet Airways, Go Air and IndiGo were diverted from Delhi to Jaipur, a DGCA statement said.
