India's Tata Consultancy Services ranked as No 1 employer in Europe

India's largest software services firm Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), which has over 2.9 lakh employees globally, has been named as the top employer in Europe by the Top Employers Institute for the second consecutive year.

Tata Consultancy Services was ranked first among the 20 companies that were eligible for the award. The company was recognised as an exceptional performer across six core Human Resources (HR) areas; primary conditions, secondary benefits, working conditions, training, career development and company culture.

Only companies that have been certified as a 'Top Employer' in at least five individual countries in Europe are eligible for the award. This years survey found that TCS performed exceptionally well across all key areas of HR practice, with the company scoring particularly highly in the categories related to outstanding working conditions, training and development, career development, cultural management and company culture.

The Top Employers certification is only awarded to the best employers around the world, organisations that demonstrate the highest standards of employee offerings, said David Pink, CEO of the Top Employers Institute, adding, Tata Consultancy Services demonstrated a forward-thinking HR environment that is continuously working to optimise its employee conditions and leading the way in the development of its people... TCS was certified in eight separate markets in 2014, including the UK where the company secured the certification for the fourth year in a row and Belgium, Netherlands, Germany and Switzerland, where it was certified for the second consecutive year.

This year also saw TCS certified in France, Sweden and Denmark for the first time.

Previously known as the CRF Institute, The Top Employers Institute is an independent organisation that identifies top performers in the field of Human Resources worldwide.
