The 38-year-old actress has disclosed that she refused to promote the disaster movie when it first aired on Syfy in 2013 because she feared that 'Sharknado' would end her career, reported Access Hollywood.
"When I first did it, it was called Dark Skies, so I thought, 'Okay, it's not gonna sound so bad on my resume... it'll be fine'. And then, all of a sudden, they're like, 'We're changing the name to Sharknado'. I said, 'Oh my God, this is it! My career is over'," Reid said.
"I begged them to change the name. It was horrible. They said, 'Trust us, it'll work'."
Reid also said that she tried not to worry as she thought no-one would ever watch the film.
"When it came out, I never told anyone about it. I thought, 'Okay, it's on Syfy, no-one will ever see it'. When it became this phenomenon, I was like, 'Are you joking me, is this really happening'"
