Senior Vice-President and Director, Honda Cars India Limited, Raman Sharma told here after the launch of Mobilio in Chandigarh market that the multi-purpose vehicle has generated a massive response in the country and the current booking figures of vehicle were over 9,000 since its launch on July 23.
When asked if Honda had positioned its vehicles to rival Maruti Suzuki vehicles because earlier Honda Amaze had hit sales of Maruti-Suzuki Swift Dzire and now Honda Mobilio had been pitted against Marutis Ertiga, Raman Sharma said that it could be a mere co-incidence. He, however, said that Mobilio offered safety, comfort, style and fuel efficiency at low cost which had triggered the euphoria. It comes in seven colours brilliant gold metallic, carnelian red pearl, majestic blue metallic, urban titanium metallic, alabaster silver metallic and taffeta white.
It comes loaded with safety features like front dual SRS airbags, anti-lock brake system (ABS), electronic brake distribution, seat belts with load limiters and impact mitigating headrests. Other key features of the car include roof mounted AC for rear passengers, bottle holder for all three rows, slide (first and second row) and recline seats (all three rows), 2 DIN audio system, security alarm and dual tone interior.
To appeal to younger audience who look for distinct styling along with comfort of a spacious MPV, the Mobilio will also be available in an exclusive sporty RS variant which has bolder and sportier exterior design than base grade. The sportier Mobilio RS grade would, however, be delivered from September 2014.
