The new Corolla Altis showcased at the Auto Expo is based on Furia concept and sports trapezoidal grille with swept back headlamps and the large air dam at the front. While at the rear, the sedan shows off angular styled tail lights, black exhaust outlet and a sleek rear spoiler for the sporty look. High end variants will feature LED headlamps, LED clearance lamps and a set of 16-inch alloy wheels while the base variants will be fitted with elegant wheel covers. The all new Corolla will be the eleventh generation model and has been completely revamped with almost zero resemblance to the obsolete model.
Hyundai Elantra is the first car to feature Hyundais fluidic design philosophy which can be seen in the sleek body line which arrests anyone at the very first glance. The front profile of the car has a smart radiator grille with chrome inserts and angular headlamp cluster which gives a regal appearance to the car. The smooth side profile pose a coupe like stance and consists of body colored door handles and ORVMs with integrated side indicators while the rear tail lamps are immaculately crafted. The exteriors of Hyundai Elantra when compared to the next generation Corolla Altis, still gets an upper edge.
Coming to the interiors of new Corolla, the cabin is double toned in piano-black color scheme which seems to be a perfect combination to please the eyes. The dashboard is elegantly fashioned which enriches the overall interior looks of the car. On the same dash, a 7-inch touchscreen panel is offered with voice command capability and an advance stereo system with USB & Bluetooth ports to keep the passengers harmonized with music. Corolla comes equipped with comfort features like rear reading lamps, paddle shifters, rear power socket, rear camera and the mirror link. The top end variants are offered with heated seats and for rear passengers, reclining seats are offered for utmost comfort. New Corolla has been also increased in overall dimensions, so there is plenty of room inside.
Korean automaker Hyundai is known for quality it provides in its cars and this is evident when we step inside Elantra. The fit and finish of the cabin provides suave and feathery touch which is an outcome of quality material used inside. The central console sports a waterfall like design and contains digital clock, temperature display and integrated stereo system with advance connectivity options. The ergonomics inside are top-notch that eases the job of the driver on the go. Hyundai Elantra hasn't been updated since 2012, so the car lacks some advance features like reclining rear seats, touch screen display and many others as compared to Corolla Altis. So, surely Altis seems to be a clear winner in terms of interior comfort.
Engine and Power
Both the cars have been offered in diesel and petrol variants in the Indian market. The all new Corolla Altis keeps the engine line-up intact with 1.8L dual VVT-i petrol unit that produces 138bhp paired with 6-speed manual transmission or an optional super CVT-i 7-speed shiftmatic transmission gearbox. On the other hand, the diesel power train consists of 1.4L D-4D engine that generates a peak power of 87.2bhp paired with 6-speed manual transmission system.

Both the diesel and petrol engine line-up is coupled with 6-speed manual and automatic transmission system. In terms of power figure, Hyundai Elantra is ahead of its competitor Altis.
