From 'Dhoom 3', '2 States' to 'Holiday', Rs 100-cr box office collections club getting crowded

Reaching the coveted Rs 100 crore mark in box office collections has become a must for every big film in Bollywood. In this report, we take a look at some of the biggest hits that have reached the Rs 100 crore mark segregating them on the basis of the number of days taken to get the coveted box office collection figure.

Aamir Khan's 'Dhoom 3' was the fastest film to reach the Rs 100 crore mark, in just three days. Shah Rukh Khan starrer 'Chennai Express' and Hrithik Roshan starrer 'Krissh 3' were also not far behind. Both movies reached the coveted figure in just four days. Aamir has another film - '3 Idiots' - in the club followed by Salman starrer 'Ek Tha Tiger' and 'Ranbir Kapoor starrer 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani'.

Indra Kumar's adult comedy 'Grand Masti' also made a surprise entry into the club. While Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela' entered the 100 crore club in 10 days with a box office collections of Rs 100.2 crore.

Ending 2013 on a high was the third installment in the 'Dhoom' franchise, 'Dhoom 3', that managed to cross the Rs 100 crore barrier in just three days, collecting Rs 107.61 crore. With such massive collections, 'Dhoom 3' toppled the SRK's 'Chennai Express' and Hrithik Roshan's Krissh 3 to emerge as the new record holder.

Rs 100 crore club

This year, the first film to open the roster for the 100 crore club was the Salman Khan starrer 'Jai Ho' that crossed the Rs 100 cr mark in eight days. After the Arjun Kapoor-Alia Bhatt starrer '2 States' reached the Rs 100 crore mark, the latest addition is the recently released Sonakshi Sinha-Akshay Kumar starrer 'Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty'. After fast making it to the top of the charts, the film has now joined the Rs 100-crore club collecting Rs 100 crore in just 15 days after its release.
