The purpose of the conference was to bring together a host of academic and industry stalwarts in an effort to understand the importance of social media marketing and strategies of e-tailing.
During the panel discussions, top executives from various reputed Indian companies debated on trends in social media, their current and possible future development and their impact on businesses. The conference also witnessed 137 research scholars from reputed academic institutions across India presenting around 96 research papers.
The technical sessions had paper presenters talk about how social media has been used by companies for brand building and achieving excellence. The outcome of the various deliberations and discussions along with the research papers will be published by an international publication for the benefit of researchers, academic institutions and businesses.
During the inaugural ceremony, Prof BS Sahay, director, IIM Raipur, said social media connects people of all ages.
Themes of the conference included topics such as Real Time, Location-based Marketing and E-tailing Strategies and Creating and Building Brands in Digital World to name a few.
