Foreign insitutional investors (FIIs) pumped in $692 million as per the BSE provisional data on Friday, making their biggest single-day purchase in more than a year.

Meanwhile, for the week ended March 19, emerging market (EM) funds posted net outflows for a record 21st week at $4.1 billion.

FIIs have remained upbeat on markets as overseas investors have been net buyers in the last 25 of 26 sessions. FIIs have bought $3.12 billion worth of equities during this period, taking their year-to-date tally to $2.79 billion.
