With its decision to bring out 12 products under three different brands by 2018, including four new products in 2014, Fiat Group Automobiles India (FGAIPL) will consider giving an independent identity to all three brands Fiat, Abarth and Chrysler with different formats. The company will launch Abarth 500 in India under the CBU format initially, said Nagesh Basavamhalli, president and managing director, Fiat Chrysler India Operations.

Responding to questions after unveiling the new Punto Evo here on Wednesday, Nagesh said: "We want all the three brands to look different. Though Abarth comes under Fiats ambit, it will be given a different look within Fiat India dealerships to give customers an unique ambience... Abarth is a racing as well passenger cars manufacturer and was acquired by Fiat in 1971."
