Finance Minister Arun Jaitley today said that the economic growth in the coming quarters will be much higher and in the long-term, the measures taken by the government will yield positive results. Exuding confidence that the fiscal deficit target of 4.1 per cent will be achieved, Jaitley said that the manufacturing and service sectors are looking up and there has been a sea change in the mood of investors.
Elaborating on the achievements of the NDA government in the 100 days it has been in office, the finance minister said that inflation has moderated while investment is picking up. On reforms like GST, he said"I am individually discussing with finance ministers and chief ministers of some states which have raised issues with regard GST and an early passage of constitutional amendment bill is on top of the government's agenda," he said.
