Earthquake tremors felt in Delhi after major temblor in Pakistan

Earthquake tremors were felt in Delhi city this evening after an temblor measuring 7.0 on the Richter scale hit Pakistan's Balochistan area.

Met department said latitude of the quake was 27 degree North and longitude was 65.7 degree East.

It was at a depth of 10 kilo metres at the epicentre in Pakistan, it said.

The temors were felt at around 5 PM. There were no immediate report of any casualties or damage.

Mild tremors were also felt in parts of western Rajasthan bordering Pakistan, but there were no reports of any damage, the MeT department said.

The quake was experienced in the border areas of Jaisalmer and Barmer, said S S Singh, director of Met office here. People in Jaipur also said that they experienced the tremors, but the MeT department denied it.

The quake was also experienced in parts of Punjab and Himachal Pradesh but no loss of life or property was reported, the local MeT office said.
