Delhi University sixth list out, Programme courses open at most colleges

Delhi University (DU) announced the sixth cut-off list for undergraduate admissions on Tuesday night. A couple of sought-after colleges will see another round of admissions for courses such as English (Honours), BCom (Honours) and Economics (Honours). Programme courses, on the other hand, remain available at most colleges.

At Hindu College, cut-offs for English (H) for general category range between 95.5 and 97 per cent. While the course is closed for SC, ST and Persons with Disability (PwD) categories, students seeking admission under the OBC category with a best of four aggregate between 91.75 and 93.75 per cent can hope to get a seat.

The college will also admit students to BCom (H) in the general and PwD categories. As opposed to the 96.75 to 99.25 per cent cut-off for general category students, PwD category cut-offs for the course at Hindu College is 89.75 per cent.

Similarly, Hansraj College will also admit general category students in English (Honours) with the cut off between 94.25 and 96 per cent. The course is open for students of every category. Economics (H) at the college is open for admissions for all categories. While the general category cut-offs for the course range from 96.5 to 96.75 per cent, the lowest cut-offs at 85-86 per cent are for the ST category.

Meanwhile, colleges like Lady Shri Ram, Ramjas and Sri Venkateswara have closed general category admissions for almost all courses.

DU aspirants, however, can still expect to get a seat at many colleges offering Programme courses. Out of 51 colleges which offer BA Programme, 38 colleges will hold a sixth round of admissions in some categories. Around 45 colleges offer BCom (P). Colleges such as Sri Venkateswara, Ramjas, Ram Lal Anand and Kirori Mal have announced a sixth cut-off list.

While admissions for almost all other courses at Ramjas College closed with the fifth cut-off list, BCom (P) general category cut-offs range from 95.25 to 97.25 per cent. Seats in other categories for BCom (P) have been filled.
