The hearing, according to competition law experts, will examine all the aspects of the complaint along with the proof, if any, before deciding to either admit it for further probe or dismiss it. As per the provisions of the competition law, the CCI will also hear DLF's defence against the said complaint.
According to sources, the nature of complaint talks about one-sided agreements in favour of the real estate major in its residential project called 'New Town Height' in Sector-86, 90, and 91 in Gurgaon. Sources said the complainant has alleged that as per the buyers agreement, the developer will stop residents from making any modifications/changes to the project that consists of 2, 3 and 4 bedroom-hall-kitchen apartments, independent floors and town houses.
When contacted, a DLF spokesperson declined to comment, saying the matter was sub-judice. A similar complaint against the Kolkata-property of DLF, also called New Town Height, was examined and disposed off by the CCI in 2012 where the regulator did not find any proof of abuse of competition laws.
