The manufacturing unit was set up at an investment of around 75 - 100 crores, and when scaled up is capable of producing 45000 tonnes per annum, stated an official release here.
"The factory will employ close to 750 employees all of whom are first generation skilled workers. We expect to bring down the distance travelled by our products through the setting up of this facility.Vinay Singh Kushwaha, Vice President Supply Chain, Britannia Industries Limited stated.
The location of this manufacturing facility is very strategic with proximity to the big markets of Gujarat, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh with the added advantage of being close to a port for export purposes. Gujarat also offered an industrial environment with access to skilled manpower and infrastructure of power, fuel etc, the release added.
