Bharti Tele PAT up 135%

Bharti Tele-Ventures Ltd (BTVL) has recorded a 135% increase in annual net profit to Rs 1,439 crore from Rs 619 crore in 2003-04, even as revenues grew 61% to Rs 8,035 crore. Net profit for the fourth quarter at Rs 437 crore was up 44% over the same quarter last fiscal, while revenues grew 49% to Rs 2,317 crore.

The company announced it would invest $900 million in the current fiscal. We have invested Rs 17,000 crore till now. This year, we plan to pump in Rs 4,000 crore. Part will be to decongest traffic, the rest will be for rolling out services in new towns and cities, Bharti Group chairman and managing director Sunil Mittal said.
