Toyota launches Toyota Green Journey challenge; to get college students in India to think about sustainable initiatives

Toyota Kirloskar Motor recently announced the launch of its new initiative Toyota Green Journeyan ideation and innovation contest to get young college students in India to think about sustainable initiatives for a greener future. Toyota Green Journey is an endeavour to source and promote green ideas on how frugal innovation can improve waste management, fuel consumption and usage of green technologies in urban Indian households. The challenge comprises of three rounds of competitions online wherein participants will be asked to present their ideas on frugal initiatives to sustain the environment and promote green future. The chosen 15 groups will then make a presentation to a jury. The winners will each get R1.5 lakh. Sandeep Singh, deputy MD, marketing, TKM, said, Toyota is considered to be the pioneers of hybrid technology. This initiative will give us an opportunity to connect with students from over 500 institutions in India and help us generate greener ideas to conserve energy and fuel.

MBA for school principals launched. National Conference of School Principals inaugurated

More than 500 educationists, principals, vice-principals, state-level administrators along with government representatives and policymakers participated in Indias first National Conference of School Principals 2012 that was held on November 8-9 in Delhi. Organised by TeacherSITY in collaboration with Educomp, the conference explored critical issues confronting schools. The minister of state for HRD, Shashi Tharoor, was the chief guest and he inaugurated Indias first MBA (educational management and leadership) for school principals. Uttarakhand Technical University in collaboration with SelaQui Institute of Management will offer the programme.
