President Pranab Mukherjee today addressed the first joint sitting of Parliament as mandatorily required under the Constitution after general elections that brought in the Narendra Modi-led government last month.

Following are the takeaway points of the economic blueprint of Prime Minister Narendra Modi as unveiled by the President Pranab in his address:

1. To contain food inflation and emphasis on improving supplies to contain food inflation
